Grant Background Information

Over 10,000 individuals incur a spinal cord injury each year in North America. As much as SCORE would like to provide a financial grant to each and every person whose life has been altered by disease or events, it is not possible.  Accordingly, the organization focuses its grants exclusively on individuals who meet ALL of the following criteria:

  1. Sustained a spinal cord injury; and
  2. Were paralyzed while participating in non-motorized sports or athletic recreation activity; and
  3. Have a demonstrated financial need.

If you or someone you know meets ALL of the above qualifications, please fill out the application below.  Our team of volunteers will review the application in regard to the three criteria above, and then contact the applicant and their references.  Once a grant has been approved, the volunteers and the grantee will collaborate in identifying the best use of funds to improve quality of life, and payment for the identified items / services will be sent directly to the vendor by SCORE.

SCORE does not fund grants for individuals injured while participating in motocross or using all-terrain-vehicles (ATVs), or from accidents related to motorcycles, motor vehicles or violence.
